Our Mission
The mission of the School at Blueberry Hill is to give each child in our care a Christ-centered education that starts in the classroom and reaches to the outdoors. Our goal is to partner with parents to raise academically excellent students with an emphasis on traditional skills.
Have you ever wished you could turn back the clock and return to simpler times? Do you yearn for a time when kids spent long hours outdoors playing, and “screens” were non-existent? Somehow we have strayed from our roots. Dirty fingernails and skinned knees are not quite as common. Fishing and gardening have been replaced with video games and tv.
Parents are so busy shuttling kids to practices, events, and appointments, that there is not time to cook together, read together, or learn new skills. Somehow modern “conveniences” have not made our lives simpler, but rather we are running at a frantic pace that most can not maintain. At Blueberry Hill, we have decided it was time for a change. We want to return to our roots and choose a different path. We believe that education is a high priority. We want the children that come to our school to have a strong academic foundation.
However, we believe the parent should be a part of that process. We believe that nothing can replace quality time between a child and his or her parent. Therefore, on Monday’s and Wednesday’s the children will be in school being instructed by a teacher, but on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s the children will be at home being instructed by their parents. The unique part of our program is that every Friday will be Family Farm Days. Parents will join their child in the learning process. Together, we will learn traditional skills such as: gardening, raising chickens, milking cows, basic sewing skills, cooking, and so much more. Some Friday’s will be spent on the Blueberry Hill property and others will be spent visiting other farms and homesteads. Siblings are welcome to come along on these fun days as we learn together as families.
Together, let’s become “rooted’ first, in our relationship with Jesus. The Bible will be the foundation for every class. Second, we will become “rooted” in quality education with a full curriculum. Next, we will become “rooted” in traditional skills and outdoor adventure. It’s time for a change, and we are happy to guide you in that process at Blueberry Hill..

We are rooted first and foremost in Jesus Christ. God’s Word will be the foundation for every subject. Our goal is to please and honor Him in all that we do and teach. Traditional skills in a sense, is just returning to God’s original design. We are striving to get back to the life that God originally intended.
Academic Excellence
We are rooted in academic excellence. We want each child that attends our school to receive a solid academic foundation. We will be investing in quality curriculums and providing patient instruction. We want each child to reach his or her full potential in our classroom, and we want to support and encourage each of you on your home days. We want our students to love learning, and receive the help and confidence they need to succeed.
Traditional Skills
We are rooted in traditional skills. We want our students to have the opportunity to return to simpler times. We want them to fall in love with the outdoors and learn the awesome rewards of hard work. We want them to have the opportunity to witness a garden growing and thriving that they planted themselves. We want them to watch animals grow and develop under their care. We want them to have the satisfaction of cooking something from their own harvest. We want our students to receive an education that reaches far beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
